SmartCraft® is your Mercury engine’s onboard operating system. It powers all the latest controls and digital technologies available exclusively from Mercury Marine, while allowing you to access real-time engine data and essential performance details onto your favorite multi-function display or mobile device. Armed with insights into everything from fuel levels to engine diagnostics, you can head out on the water with confidence and peace of mind.

To facilitate these insights and transform your mobile device into a robust information portal, follow the instructions below to first install SmartCraft Connect Mobile, and then connect to the Mercury Marine app for seamless digital integration.

Install SmartCraft Connect Mobile

  1. Begin by locating the SmartCraft 10‑pin connector and removing the termination cap.
  2. Connect the 10‑pin connector to the SmartCraft Connect Mobile harness.
  3. If applicable, route the harness behind the intake runner mounting tab and secure it with the cable tie.
  4. Locate the module mounting bracket on the engine and secure the module with two cable ties to keep it away from moving engine components.
  5. Hold on to the terminator cap in case you need it in the future. Note: Depending on your engine, the terminator cap can be yellow, red or blue.

Configure the module on the Mercury Marine app

1.     Get started by downloading the Mercury Marine app from the App Store or Google Play if you haven’t already done so.

2.     Once the app has been installed, open it up to begin the configuration process.

3.     Enable the module to communicate with the app via Bluetooth by clicking OK when prompted.

4.     Select the consumer user option.

5.     Select Continue to begin data sharing.

6.     Enter your email address and password. As a first time user, select the Sign up now option.

7.     Complete all of the required data fields. When finished, select the Create button.

8.     Turn on your boat’s battery power, select Find My Device, and then choose your SmartCraft Connect Mobile device to pair.

9.     You’ll then be presented with a screen where you will need to enter your SmartCraft Connect Mobile serial number, which can be found on the side of the module. After entering the serial number, select Save.

10.  Select the Wi‑Fi network that will be used for communication connection.
NOTE: Networks that do not require a password are acceptable to use. Captive portal Wi‑Fi networks, which require a user to interact with a web page, cannot be used to configure this module. The device name uses the last 3 digits of the module serial number for identification. Wi‑Fi signal strength needs to be two bars to function properly.

11.  Enter the password needed for establishing a connection to a Wi‑Fi network. Select Connect.

12.  Your SmartCraft Connect Mobile can now be customized for vessel and engine data.
