With Verado's supercharged technology delivering unbelievable torque, these FourStrokes provide astounding holeshots and punchy mid-range acceleration, all with outstanding fuel economy.

Shaft Length Options
Available in 20" and 25" shaft lengths, the 20" shaft option is perfect for 21-foot-plus bass boats, while the 25" option performs handsomely on multi-species or saltwater bay boats.

Unlike standard hydraulic steering systems, the 250 and 300 hp Pro FourStrokes come with true automotive-like power steering, which eliminates the steering torque you can experience with other outboard engines. That lack of steering torque means less driver fatigue, allowing you to save your energy for finishing and not fighting the wheel.
Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS)
Both the 250 and 300 hp Pro FourStrokes feature Mercury’s exclusive DTS, which provides an unparalleled level of control and precision. This digital technology also enables Mercury to offer the optional DTS Hot Foot, which allows you to transfer throttle control between a foot pedal and the DTS panel control with a simple push of a button – great for keeping both hands on the wheel during high-speed runs.

Gearcase Durability
Mercury Marine's commitment to testing and continual product improvement never stops. The most recent examples of this commitment are found in the new range of Verado gearcase offerings.
The new 5.44-inch gearcase - with strengthened internal components - is a larger, more robust version of the current 4.8-inch gearcase. The 5.44-inch gearcase is best suited for saltwater offshore boats that are run more aggressively, or in rough seas where the propellers frequently ventilate. Additionally, 23-foot or larger single-engine boats that weigh more than 5,000 pounds fully loaded will significantly benefit from this larger gearcase.
Lastly, the current 4.8-inch Verado gearcase continues to be the best choice for single-engine boat applications – including bass, freshwater multispecies, inshore flats and bay and pontoon boats. The 4.8" gearcase has a smaller hydrodynamic profile to ensure top performance on these boat types. This gearcase is available in right-hand rotation exclusively on a 20-inch and 25-inch 225 hp Verados as well as the new 250 and 300 Pro FourStrokes
